Mr. Price had a strong interest in herbs and herb cultivation from a young age.  Later at Pomona College, he turned his attention to Asian Studies where he studied classical Chinese and Chinese art history under the tutelage of Dr. Sharon Hou, PhD and Dr. Bruce Coates, PhD.  After receiving his bachelor’s degree, Mr. Price lived in Japan for six years where he taught himself Japanese and passed the second level of the Japanese Language Proficiency Examination. 

Returning to his passion for herbal medicine, he was first certified by the Institute of Chinese Herbology and then received his Master of Oriental Medicine from the International Institute of Chinese Medicine in 2000.  Mr. Price also completed the training program at the Chengdu University of TCM where he studied with jing fang expert Dr. Guang-Hua Zhang.  For the last 23 years, he has balanced a busy clinical practice with teaching, accumulating over 5,000 hours of experience teaching 28 different courses.  Mr. Price also serves as an ACAOM site visitor and has been involved in the assessment of more than a dozen AOM institutions. 

In his free time, he pursues Chinese calligraphy, Chen style tai ji, and Seven Star qigong. Mr. Price also translates Chinese medical journal articles into English and has had translations published in a preeminent professional blog. Currently he is working on an annotated translation of the Yellow Emperor’s Inner Classic, the magnum opus of Chinese medical literature. In 2018, Mr. Price became involved in AOM politics and served on the board of Arizona’s professional acupuncture association.
